Being that it is the first thing you see when you walk into a home, I have always loved entryways that really make a statement – a pop of color, wallpaper, or full wall of art. My home’s previous owner had chosen to paint the entire place Antique White (except for one bright green bathroom, ugh) but left the 1984 wood trim throughout. My first mission was to put some life into my sad little entryway and paint, what else?, stripes!
My original idea was to paint navy blue and gold stripes but after hours and hours of work I took a step back and realized that it looked a bit more like Tutankhamun’s mask than I had hoped. So, I went back by hand and painted every gold stripe back to white. The outcome was much better than I expected!
Thoughts? Do you like the stripes or would you have gone with something else?
